Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School is a small, coeducational college preparatory school located in Rabun Gap, Georgia about 2 hours north of the bustling city of Atlanta. The school campus is located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains which gives students great opportunities to explore the outdoors. The school's motto is "work, study, worship," and Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School strives to build a community that challenges students from diverse backgrounds as they prepare for college and a lifetime of learning and service. The curriculum at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School is a classical liberal arts curriculum that includes a wide array of cultural acttivities on and off campus. The school also has a unique program known as the Cirque program which allows students to learn how to perform on stage, including using the trapeze. The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School athletic program is both competitive and inclusive, and all students are encouraged to get involved. Students take core classes in the humanities, mathematics, and science and can further their academic interests in a variety of elective classes including STEAM, theatre, dance, arts, weightlifting, and special in-depth topics with the Head of School. The school also ooffers 16 Advanced Placement courses. Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School has embraced the humanities model curriculum as well. The humanities model fuses traditional history and English classes together. The humanities faculty incorporate team teaching and cross-curricular materials. Students both study and write about historical texts and events in a way in an environment that encourages discourse and collaboration.
